To start out create the basic shape
you would like your terrain to be

With blend textures you can use "Paint Alpha" and "Invert Alpha" to fade a special 2 tone texture
for your dispacement, for help on advanced displacement textures PM or message me.

I hope this will help out anyone who is new to displacements,
or anyone who is looking to learn more about creating realistic terrain!

Nice, map and tutorial lol ^^

But anyway the tutorial is good for those who just started using the displacement tool.

If anyone asks me about it I'll be sure to link them to this tutorial  \

I would have posted more on noise, subdivision etc, but I want to keep it nice and simple
for people like me, haha

One of these days I'll probably end up making another tutorial on making collums/ pillars
and different things with displacements, and show how to make custom blend textures
for cool fade effects "Advanced-Pillars"  \

I always wanted to know how  to make those pillars \

Make a 64x64 block and make it like 256 units high and select the 4 sides around(not the top and the bottom) and press create and power of 3 or 4 and then press subdivide \

I'll start working on the Pillar/column "subdivision" tutorial this weekend

Some insane stuff is possible with subdivision!
