Changing the Gravity
« on: March 23, 2010, 01:17:29 AM »
Well, I'm sure a lot of you know this already, but i hadn't seen a tutorial of it on here, so i thought I'd post it.

Change Gravity From A Brush
First, make a brush with the "trigger" texture

Then tie the brush to a "trigger_gravity" entity (Ctrl + t)

Select "Gravity (0-1)" And put in a decimal number from 0 being no gravity, to 1 being normal gravity.

Remember to have the "clients" flag selected.

When you walk into the trigger you should have the gravity you put in, in the (0-1) part.

Here's a video of me messing about with the gravity.

Also if you want to give everyone on the server gravity, without making a giant brush around the map, you can make a "point_servercommand", and set a "logic_auto" to trigger a command on the "point_servercommand".
Eg: OnMapSpawn - ServerCommand - command - sv_gravity 200 - delay (600)

Thanks for readin'.

Be careful when using trigger_gravity, I think it's part of the list of entities that DO NOT reset after ending a round...

Indeed, use a logic_auto or secondary brush set around spawn to ensure its reset
