Thats what I am doing.

Minus the public voting. I am not known for that sort of thing. I usually don't even make threads for maps, just go about things via personal messaging.

Anyone can feel free to map whatever they would like, and submit it to me. It will be rejected or accepted arbitrarily.

As for being 'adequate' enough to participate, keep in mind, the original commune was made by mostly new mappers and are generally low-quality by todays standards. Don't be intimidated, because there is nothing impressive about the actual stuff.

Out of interest, how much renovation are we going for here? The general tidy up, or the whole hog (as I presumed \)

God damned sexy.

A good benchmark for people to aim for in sexiness.

Put the hp on the floor too, though, no floating letters.

A combination of whole-hog and tidying up. Case by case basis.

I'd like to try Pyromaniac's stage, simply because I love it \ Also, everyone is allowed to try to do stages that are already taken, am I right? And the best one gets the spot? Correct me if I am wrong. \

Check first post for updated direction. Notably:

**I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, I WANT THE SURF TO BE AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THE ORIGINAL. OLD SCHOOL RAMPS AND BROKEN RAMPS AND ALL THAT. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE A BUNCH OF BABY-ASS SMOOTH RAMPS AND CURVES; NOT WHAT THIS IS ABOUT. IT MAY BE NECESSARY, AND IT IS RECOMMENDED, THAT YOU COPY AND PASTE LARGE SECTIONS OF THE SURF INTO YOUR SECTION, THEN REBUILD THEM NEXT TO THE OLD PARTS AND OVERLAY THE TWO, DELETING THE OLD COPIED PORTION. THIS WAY YOU GET SIMILAR CURVES AND GAPS.**

I think I may have failed to put that across clearly in the original posting.

of course, the only changes to ramps I'm making is BCR and slight alignments (1 - 2 u max)

long story short, if you can't copy paste over the original and match them up, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

ammirite?

I accept any submissions, and choose which I want. Anyone is free to submit where they would like. I just had that list of stages/mappers in the post to try and prevent too much overlap.

I have finished with hotshot's level...i send you the vmf, the bsp and the compile log by a private message ^^
I have respected the sizes of the ramps ( a bit bigger ), and i made a smoother ramps...but keeping the structure of the surf way.
And i have added some details, to do it a bit better :p. By the way, the light_enviroment with pitch setted up in "down" sucks ! \
Some pics:

EDIT: In the first Picture...there is a Glass...but i dont know why it doesnt appear...

You appear to have done the opposite of what was asked, which is odd.

I do not want smooth ramps
I am looking for a generally 'prettying up' of the non-functional scenery
I want this lit BRIGHTLY
All these, and other stipulations, can be found in the main post, and probably also throughout the thread.

No worries, there is plenty of time before I start finalizing submissions, weeks at least.

A note to everyone, it will probably be necessary to play your chosen level many many times to get the feel for it.

But have you played the beta i sent to you??...the ramps are not ultra smooth, in fact...i just counter the number of ramps that hotshot used, and i made the same number, just i made better ramps...that's all...and for lighting...i can increase the value of the entities light...

I was just giving you suggestions and hints that may increase the chance that your submission is chosen. You don't have to change anything, if you don't want to.

For you, and for everybody, consider while making your stage why it should be picked over somebody else's attempt at the same stage. I have at least one or two people for everystage at this point, so make something you are proud of, if you knock it out in an hour or two, it was likely a waste of your time.

The key here is to update the levels to look nicer, and be cleaner, without going overboard.

Jail traps were fun, you should make them do a lot less damage, not kill you, but just take some of your HP that you could have spent on starting where you left off at.
