i cant wait, hopefully that top path will have water so when i finally land there its not leg breaking death \ The lighting is oddly pleasant, seems like it would be windows or a skybox giving it off almost.

Maybe you could just turn off the fall damage at the rail/wall after the boosters at the start. It really sucks if you hit the boosters wrong and want to turn back and you dont have enough speed to get back to the water ^^

Hope you understand what I mean ^^

The 45 degree slant up after the main booster platform:

I may add a middle stripe to it which is surfable, so people have an exit-strategy for bad boosts.

Impacting is part of the map; but if people are dying there too much, I would consider that a flaw in the map.

i know impacting is a part of the map but its easier to die in here compared to momentum 1 imo

that could make the ppl ragequit : P

So, the main complaints have been:

1. A bit too bright in areas
2. Some slide ramps produce sticks
3. Some confusion in paths
4. Impacting is an issue, especially in the first room
5.  Some minor errors in missing teleports and details

I am going to address the lighting at spawn and the fall damage on the main slide in front of the boosters in the front room. I am going to clean up whatever errors I can find. I don't think I can fix the confusion or the ramp sticks which are on solid geometry.

Anything else before I finalize it, this weekend?

I would've liked to see a few more interconnecting paths, all of the paths seem kinda linear without many splits. I know that introduces some potential path exploits but it just feels less extensive than the last one.

How would you fit in non-trivial paths? This map certainly has more non-redundant paths than the original.

It is actually kind of blowing my mind that you would describe it as linear without many splits.

I could add more surf paths, but they would be redundant/trivial. Would the map benefit from more paths? The original had an extra path that led to the 'easy end', which I omitted in this version. I didn't think it would be missed.

I really enjoyed some of the trivial paths in the first one, but I can see how they weren't really necessary.

What I'm trying to say is that most all of the splits happen at the start of the map, instead of having a more branches on the different paths you choose at the beginning. Maybe I just haven't played the map extensively enough.

On second thought, don't use that server. Hopped on it this morning and 5 of the 10 players were VAC banned and I only checked because of KLIJASNKLDFJNASKLDhackers \

I may actually be around, looking forward to the next beta, as the last one was good. Also, if you need another server to do the beta on, there's 8-bit surf, a friend runs it, its still getting off its feet, but hes open to betas.

Can anyone get a video of the map up soon, if that's ok with you FAJ? I'm so fucking stoked for this map but I can't play it  \ \ \

FAJEDIT- Anyone is free to make a video, but it is not really a skill map, so I dunno what the video would show. Going from start to finish 4-5 ways? \

I like what they did with it; I was interested in how you would make momentum2 into a linear map, but this looks like it works. The bonus looks confusing as hell, I approve.

Thanks for posting the video, Tioga.
