Haven't made anything in years, so the offer is lost on me.

Great opportunity for others though.

Meh for the fun of it you could always take a couple pics of either sluice or industries. Would kinda be cool as a wallpaper I guess.

I got a 55" Seiki for $700.  the 40 inch is only $350.

I bought it online and I didn't really realize how big a 55" TV is.  It's not really great for gaming - a bit laggy  - but it's great for watching movies and such.

Just went through surf_sluice. Here's everything I took.  I had the FPS showing in a few of them, but then went back through and took some more shots with the FPS display off.  Just a directory list for now.  I may do something about making it a gallery or something a bit later. http://images.solidsurf.info/bigscreens/surf_sluice/

PS Hammer in 4k is pretty darn sweet.

Yeah it's pretty nice.  I definitely wish I got the 39" though - it's only $350 (plus you'll need a video card with HDMI 1.4a).  The 55" I have does feel a bit laggy.  Not sure if it's true for the 39" too.  Each window in Hammer on my screen is basically about the the size of a 21" screen though.

PNG attached is 8-bit dithered to compress it a bit better, so the edges of the screen look crappy.  But they're normal on the screen.

The 55" that I have is pretty bad @4k - only does 30hz, so the response time is pretty bad.  I got another 4k monitor though that does 4k@60hz with supposedly 1ms gtg

60hz and 1ms are pretty much incompatible.

My cousins have a 60" 3D TV that supposedly does 120hz, and the input lag on SSB:Project M felt pretty good. I would truly be surprised if you had anything under 20ms, lol.

I'm *pretty sure* response time is the time taken from when the bitmap frame is received by the LCD hardware to the time it takes for the change to be reflected in the pixel.  So 1ms response time just means it will be a bit more immediate than a monitor of lesser spec.  Obviously you still have to wait the 16.6ms between frames at 60hz

Also, I still have the map source because I uploaded it to Solidsurf a bit after I made it.
