Porting a map from CS:S to CS:GO
« on: January 11, 2015, 10:27:20 AM »

Is it possible for somebody to make a semi-detailed tutorial on decompiling maps from CS:S to CS:GO?
There are a lot of great maps in CS:S but since I don't own the game, I can't play most of them.

Thanks in advance.

Just extract hl2 / css textures / models / sounds, load the map in pakrat and scan for all of the missing textures. Decompiling maps can cause ramp glitches/other bugs so its a pretty bad approach to porting. I'll probably write a guide in the future that covers some other small things, but 90% of maps ported to csgo use that exact process and really nothing more.
