Infinity Skybox

I've seen this style of skybox in Omnific and the surf_kitsune2 beta. Just wondering if anyone could give me an idea on how this is created.

Well any way my way is a little bit different from omnific, it also saves mad hard on FPS (thanks nyro for the idea). I use an actual black skybox texture as opposed to the 3d skybox area being enclosed in a black texture box. Enable skybox fog and make it all black, set the min around 2k and the max around 25k (experiment for desired effect). The grid model I made is actual a model of what a grid would be, omnific uses overlapping planes w/ texture. Don't do it the omnific way, thats what causes the major FPS drop for those with 3dskybox on and AA/Texture AA.
